Lift’14 : What can the future do for you ?

March 20, 2020 by Sedat Adiyaman

Lift is an organisation that promotes innovation. It is, among other things, events that focus on inspiring individuals on the new technologies and their impact on the society. Each of the Lift conference is spread over 3 days, and for this 2014 occasion, the Lift’14 took place from the 5th to the 7th of February in Geneva.

The mindset was all about the future and what is linked to it. In the dark conference room, we could perceive the Apple logo on most of the laptops, all connected the web and social medias. The following picture talks to itself regarding the event :

By the way, what do we do at the Lift event ?

  • Discovering fascinating innovations
  • Meet amazing people
  • Get inspired and share new ideas with others

Here are few lines to resume the event and its themes :

How to manage the cycle of innovation ?

By Philippe Silberzahn, Associate Professor at EMLYON.

“30 % of the time in enterprises is spent controlling and reporting. This brings added value.”

“We can’t divide the connection between people and creativity”

“If a company needs a department in innovation, it means they are not creative enough.”

“Innovation is a social process. Creativity a psychological one.”

What will the food of the future look like ?

The bio-hackers of the University of Maastricht, Netherlands, have conceived hamburgers in in-vitro laboratory maastricht university.

Can we democratize bio-technology ?

La Paillasse in Paris has its BioHackerSpace for amateur biologists.

What are the challenges for tomorrow’s watchmakers ?

By Olivier Audemars of Audemars-Piguet.

What is the link between terrorists, hackers, gangs and the Silicon Valley ?

Innovation, from what Alexa Clay tells us. The project Misfit Economy is about exploring innovation in the black market.

Finally, I had a discussion with Blabdroid, the robot that asks inspiring questions. 🙂
